Dubai Police: Verifying Temporary Domestic Workers Enhances Security

The Crime Prevention Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Investigations of Dubai Police has called on homeowners to deal only with licensed and accredited entities and companies when engaging temporary domestic workers or hourly-based staff, affirming that this contributes to protecting homes and property and enhancing community safety.

Dubai Police stressed the importance of verifying the identity of the worker before they begin work, and of not allowing unknown or unauthorised persons to enter homes, emphasising that these preventive measures help enhance the security of families and reduce potential risks.

It also urged that sums of money, jewellery, or valuable possessions should not be left in visible places while temporary workers are present in the home, and that important documents and papers should be kept in secure locations, thereby reducing the chances of exposure to theft or loss of property.

Dubai Police underlined the importance of supervising children and the elderly and not leaving them alone with untrusted persons, in order to safeguard their safety and the safety of family members.

It called on the public to report immediately any actions or behaviour that arouse suspicion or doubt on the part of temporary domestic workers or hourly-based staff, through the "Police Eye" service in the Dubai Police app or by calling 901.
